Maple Bear Malaysia Hosts First-Ever Terry Fox Charity Event

Posted in Giving Back / Maple Bear Malaysia on Thursday, October 10th, 2024

As part of Maple Bear Penang’s annual Sports Day this year, our preschool community gathered on 21 July 2024 in Penang for their very first Terry Fox charity event.

At Maple Bear, learning goes far beyond the classroom. Through engaging in fundraising activities, we strive to inspire our children from a young age to embrace the joy of giving back to the community. Just like Terry Fox, they learn that they are never too young to make a difference.

Maple Bear students, parents, teachers, and staff kicked off the Terry Fox charity event with a morning run around the neighbourhood to Taman Jajar. The day continued with a variety of exciting Olympic-themed games, including triathlons, football, boat rowing, and even ‘swimming’. Our students enthusiastically participated in each event, cheering one another on and showcasing the spirit of teamwork and friendship.

We were honoured to have the support of our Education Ambassador, Mrs. Patricia Koh, and Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Adrian Fong, from Maple Bear Asiawide, who joined us to celebrate this special occasion. Mrs. Koh took great pride in presenting gold medals to all our young athletes, recognizing their efforts and the true sportsmanship they displayed throughout the event.

A heartfelt thank you to our Maple Bear families for their invaluable contributions, making this day both meaningful and memorable. Together, we raised RM20,000 for cancer research in Malaysia, proving that when we come together as a community, we can achieve remarkable things!
