Our children attended Maple Bear Penang during Summer 2025 while we were visiting family from Chicago. We wanted something more structured than daycare — a program with real learning and development — and Maple Bear stood out with its long-standing reputation and strong recommendations from friends.
The school offered full-day classes with an excellent balance of learning and play. The curriculum included Mandarin, English, and Malay immersion, along with reading, art, music, and even a Sports Day. The children were also exposed to Malaysian culture in a meaningful way, something we deeply valued as overseas parents.
We were especially impressed with the teachers and staff, who were caring, attentive, and communicative. They kept us updated through a parent WhatsApp group, sharing songs, activities, and photos — which gave us peace of mind being away from home. Meals were nutritious, and our kids came home each day excited and looking forward to the next. A highlight was their field trip to Taiping Zoo — weeks later, our son is still talking about it!
Maple Bear Penang provided a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for our children. We are so grateful for the experience and highly recommend it to families seeking more than just playtime — a real educational foundation with fun and cultural immersion.

Maple Bear Penang was an amazing school for my daughter. It has a great language immersion program and my daughter could comfortably speak in Chinese while learning Bahasa Melayu as well. She also learned to read and write in English very well.
Her teachers were all incredible and you can see their passion for teaching young children. We had to leave Malaysia but we will greatly miss Maple Bear, the school and the teachers, who helped my daughter through a difficult year of transition during the Covid pandemic. They not only tended to the children's academic needs but also taught them healthy social and emotional learning!
